In the coming months, Wentworth Metal Recycling will have a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional on staff to assist with your LEED construction project.
Green construction is spreading across the public and private sectors throughout Canada and the world. Green buildings include commercial, institutional, industrial and multi unit residential new construction and major renovations. As well as the social benefits, the compelling incentive for building owners and developers to invest in green buildings, and specifically the LEED certification program, is the financial benefit of operating a more efficient and less expensive facility.
LEED is based on accepted energy and environmental principles and strikes a balance between know effective practices and emerging concepts. It encourages a whole building approach over a building’s life cycle that guides a collaborative and integrated design and construction process.
LEED provides a menu of green building measures in five environmental categories:
Sustainable Sites
Water Efficiency
Energy and Atmosphere
Materials and Resources
Indoor Environmental Quality
Wentworth Metal Recycling will soon be able to offer construction customers our expertise on site at your projects. Our LEED Associate will come to your site, evaluate your project and offer recommendations for all materials that can be recycled. Bins will be supplied by Wentworth Metal Recycling so that we can offer our customers relevant experience within our organization to assist them with maximizing the success of their LEED projects. Wentworth Metal Recycling partners with our customers to provide a one stop option for all of their needs on construction projects and as such adding a LEED certification will offer them the assurance that the project is operating as GREEN as possible.
